CENTRAL Regional Minister, Ama Benyiwa Doe has noted that the sacrifice made for the nation by Ghana’s first president, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah is incomparable considering the pace he set for other African countries to gain their freedom.
She further stated that the passion Nkrumah had to improve education in a the country saw him establishing Ghana national college in Cape Coast years before he change the nations name for Gold Coast to Ghana.
Madam Benyiwa Doe who made these remarks during Ghana National College’s founder’s day celebration over the weekend appealed to tutors to teach students about the school’s history and the contributions Nkrumah made towards it in order to motivate them to do same for the country.
The regional minister advised teachers to adopt the modern technology and put in place better policies to prepare students for responsible adult life.
She charged students to work hard to increase successes of the school by leaving a behind mark of excellence.
Samia Nkrumah, Mp for Jomoro and Dr. Nkrumah’s daughter in a short speech tasked the leadership of the country not to kill her father’s vision but continue to work on it to ensure total development of the country.
According to her, she had come to represent and re-affirm her father’s vision for the country urging Ghanaians to remain united, humble and live in harmony with one another so Nkrumah’s desire to see Ghana established would be a reality.
A citation was red and a cake cut in honour of Nkrumah and other founding members of the school to contribute to its development.
