THE CONVENTION People’s Party Women’s Wing on Friday celebrated the party’s founder dr. Kwame Nkrumah, as part of activities marking his centenary anniversary.
The celebration was to sensitize and edyacte Ghanaians on the everlasting Nkrumah legacy, left behind for Ghana and Africa as well. He brought about the struggle and battle for the total liberation of Africa colonialism.
The national organiser of the CPP, Evelyn Anabila, in an interview said, Dr. Nkrumah is so far the only president of Ghana who left behind a legacy of real development and struggle for independence for Ghanaians and Africa.
She added that if our leaders and presidents who came after him had done something in addition to his, we would not be facing problems by now.
Dr. Abu sakara, first national vice chairman of the party and the running mate for the presidential elections in 2008 for CPP, noted that the importance attached to the celebration of the Nkrumah was to create a better platform for the coming generations, who through personal sacrifice, selflessness and endurance shall also be celebrated and rembemred in future.
According to him, the celebration should not to be a one day celebration but must be continuous in order to achieve the mains aim for the celebration.
He urged the youth to learn and research more in order to be well versed with the true history of Nkrumah. Party executives, women groups and some youth celebration with a float which started from holy gardens at circle through Spintex, Tema , Nungua, central business district in Accra and finally ended at the party headquarters.
